Highways and Transport Committee

The Highways Committee keeps an eye on Whiteley's roads and street furniture.

It is campaigning for road links to be opened and for unadopted roads to be adopted.

A successful campaign has resulted in the new pedestrian crossing on Whiteley Way, a further crossing is sought on Yew Tree Drive.

The committee also pursues streetlight and road repairs and maintenance requirements.

This committee is also concerned with transport issues, liaising with local businesses to reduce local road congestion and improve the availability of public transport.
